This place is absolutely amazing. In a town that had two food options (Mexican or country cooking), Downtown Eatery is a refreshingly new restaurant with different menu items. Their red salsa and pesto dip are great. Their daily specials are the best; try the Chicken Medallions in Pina Colada sauce. I eat here at least once a week, although it's more like 2 or 3 times to be honest. It's a great place for lunch, and the price can't be beat for the amount of food you get.

This little treasure was a real treat. I loved both the bean dip and red salsa and ordered both to go along with the fresh plaintain chips. The fajita sandwich was so good, we ordered a second one to share. Definately check this one out!

Delicious!! Great Latin American cuisine. It far exceeds expectations. The food is like you stepped at a 4 star restaurant. The service was wonderful. The staff is very friendly and remembers you! The place is wonderful. The atmosphere is of a local sandwich shop. However the food and service is from a top notch restaurant! A nice change in Deer Park.

It's always exellent. Love the plantains and the tortillas. The service was prompt and friendly. I like the varied menu the apperizer chicken quesadilla is the best I have ever had. Do more advertizing outside Deer Park.

Today I tried the "Cilantro Chicken", It Is one of the best dishes there. Once the chiken touched my taste buds, It was an explosion of flavor. The chicken and the cilantro tequilla sauce, acompanied by the mushrooms and tomatoes totally compliment each other. The vegetable rice and black beans were nothing short of amazing, the rice was so flavorful and it packed an imressive punch of flavor. please do not underestimaite these side dishes. The service was great, but the service is not what I go back for. The food is what reels me In every time. Chef Antonio Morquecho Is a true genius In the kitchen, his food is truly original, like nothing ive ever had. his food has character, just like my appetite. I realy do love this place, every time I come back there Is always something new to try, and the food that is even better the second time. My point is that Xilantro's Is a place to go when you want something you want to try somthing new or you want to eat something truly irresistable. when i first visited Xilantro's, I had no idea what i was getting into, turns out I found a relationship with food you cant fin anywhere else. Why, becuase it is unique to one man, and i have a mesage for Antonio Morquecho.......I left your restraunt, hungry for more.

I've been in three times now, eating something different every time, and the food is amazing! Perfect portion sizes, incredible seasoning in everything and I LOVE the use of plantaines in your dishes. Plate presentation is unmatched and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of food.

I look forward to refueling at Xilantro's as often as possible...only wish you were a little closer (Baytown).

I would like to write about a wonderful restaurant that my husband and I visited (recommended by friends who go there for lunch often). The name is XILANTROS, they are located at 4102 Center Street, Deer Park, Texas. This restaurant has become a local favorite, with its unique cuisine that is New American cousine, with a caribbean touch, and also South America and Mexico.

If you are ever in the Deer Park area I highly recommend this family owned restaurant. The food is marvelous, (I am not exaggerating, I am a very picky person when it comes to food). You will find that their prices are very reasonable. I ordered the Penne Pasta, which is a pasta with shrimp, mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli, garlic and olive oil, it was delicious you could taste the freshness of the ingredients, their food tastes like homemade food, a truly delight to my tastebuds and an inexpensive dish only $8.50, compare to what you would pay in one of those burgers places that you end up paying that much for just a burger and fries.

My husband had the Enchiladas SUizas that is stuffed chicken in a creamy green sauce and melted montery jack (which I tried a little bit) the creamy green sauce was very light and tasteful. This dish was only 8.95 and again a very generous portion. I also recommend their potato soup, it is very good, is light and at the very same time very filling and it tastes like your grandmother's soup or even better I would say. One detail that I dont want to omit is that the presentation of the dish, which is very important to the eye as to the taste, all the dishes are beautifully presented and decorated. For drinks we had ice tea and we also had chips. ( the crunchy and warm tortilla chips are on the house when you order). For dessert I had tiramisu, a delicious dessert perfectly done and again a very reasonable price, $1.95 ( I've had tiramisu before and was charged 4.95 in other restaurants). When you visit I recommend you the tiramisu you will not be dissapointed. Overall I find no faults at all in this restaurant, it is an attractive and clean place to eat, with very good prices, the hostess is a very courteous and the services is excellent. No wonder it has become a local favorite. My husband and I had a wonderful lunch for under $25.00 an a great service.

Next time in Deer Park, stop by XILANTROS, you will enjoy it and certainly will come back for more.

A pearl in Deer Park.

I first came to Xilantro's for the Saturday buffet brunch and I could not believe how good the food was. There was a fish in sofrito that I could not have enough of, beef enchiladas in green and white sauce (absolutely delicious) and several other dishes, there was also a dessert of banana fritters with a chocolate mousse dip. I try the spiced hot tea, very nice! The buffet brunch is $8.95, a very good deal.

I came back twice and enjoyed everything I have tried. You can bring your bottle of wine, which is nice.

This is a family business and everybody is very friendly. They really deserve to be recognized. Chef Antonio Morquecho came to chat with us and he said that he worked in upscale Italian and French restaurants and you can feel this influence in the quality of the food.

We found this place while looking for Mother's Day menus in Houston on b4-u-eat. Because of the reviews and the "Saturday" night Mother's Day menu we decided to try it (party of 15). From the moment we called to make a reservation we were treated like royalty. This is a very small restaurant with non-descript decor and when we walked in we were the only ones there. A little worried we sat down to what turned out to be the most delicious food we have eaten in a long time, with the friendliest wait staff, bar none. The restaurant was filled to capacity within a few minutes after we arrived and the service and quality of food never waivered.

The shrimp ceviche was so refreshing it made your taste buds sing, the beef tamale was delicious and had what looked like roast beef as a filling (upscale!), the cilantro cream sauce, pulled pork asado and everything was just divine and the presentation of the food was appealing! We had a wonderful time and will certainly return...more times than one I'm sure!

Love this place, the food, the friendly service. We have been fans since it first open as Downtown Eatery and we spread the word to ensure that it stay in business. It such a great assest to Deer Park. We visit at least once a week or more and we see many of the same people each time. Take your friends and they'll keep coming back.
